COLUMN: Move from Italy for job leads to a new home in Pictou County
Elsa Rastelli left Italy in the late 1950s in search of freedom and adventure. She found both as well as lifelong love and lasting friendships.
On April 28th, the Pictou West Liberal Association held its' Annual General Meeting at the Maritime Oddfellows Home in Pictou.
All positions were filled unanimously by the membership and the positions include new president, former campaign co-chair for Glennie Langille, Ben MacLean from Abercrombie. Linda Thompson-Reid from River John continues her role as Vice President, with Jane MacMaster of Caribou as Secretary and Sandy Stewart of Scotsburn as Treasurer.
"We have much to be excited about as Liberals in Pictou West,” said Ben MacLean, incoming president. "Despite being unsuccessful electorally, we remain energized and will continue all the great work that was done by so many over the course of the last few years in this riding, as well as working with our friends in Pictou Centre and Pictou East. I have told Premier McNeil personally that with a strong and united team, we will work hard to deliver a Pictou West Liberal MLA next election.”
Guest speaker at the meeting was Reema Fuller, the Nova Scotia Liberal Party's director of fundraising.
