Coaching summit planned for St. FX

ANTIGONISH – An upcoming forum in Antigonish will give coaches in the northern Nova Scotia region a chance to talk about coaching and how to enhance the coaching experience.

As part of National Coaches Week next month, Sport Nova Scotia (SNS) and Canadian Sport Center Atlantic are partnering to facilitate regional coaching forums, to begin the process of building local coaching networks.

“The first step in this process will be an opportunity to speak with and hear from coaches in Pictou, Guysborough and Antigonish counties,” said Stephanie Spencer of SNS, “(and) to learn what the specific needs are of coaches in our region, then work together to ensure the supports are put in place to best strengthen our network.”

It will take place on Sept. 24 from 7-9 p.m. at the Keating Millennium Centre at St. FX University and is open to coaches from all sports, levels and experiences, from community, recreational and competitive coaches, to university and elite level coaches.
