Donations from meters go to fuel fund

Donations collected from the parking meters throughout Downtown New Glasgow during the month of December 2017 were presented to the Pictou County Fuel Fund representative, Jim McKenna, on behalf of the community by New Glasgow Mayor Nancy Dicks.

Donations collected from the parking meters throughout Downtown New Glasgow during the month of December 2017 were presented to the Pictou County Fuel Fund representative, Jim McKenna, on behalf of the community by New Glasgow Mayor Nancy Dicks.

The tally collected was $825.21. New Glasgow Mayor Nancy Dicks said the community was very generous with their donations.

In addition to the donations collected in December at the parking meters, the Town of New Glasgow proudly contributes $3,000 annually to the Pictou County Fuel Fund. Other community organizations to have received donations from the December parking meters in the past included Pictou County Food Bank, Kinsmen Christmas Needy Families Project, the Life Shelter and the Pictou County Help Line.
