Guilty plea entered on defrauding Department of Community Services


A New Glasgow woman has pleaded guilty to defrauding the government of more than $5,000. Isabel Marie Izzard, 39, gave instructions through her lawyer in New Glasgow provincial court on Monday to plead guilty of defrauding the Department of Community Services of the funds between Aug. 1 and Dec. 31 last year. She also plead guilty to a breach of probation charge. A third charge of failing to pay restitution is still up in the air. Izzard will be back in provincial court on Oct. 28 for sentencing and to enter pleas on the final charge.

NEW GLASGOW - A New Glasgow woman has pleaded guilty to defrauding the government of more than $5,000.
