Historical pictures presented to local businesses

Pictou County Roots society member Clyde Macdonald and former director of the organization Philip MacKenzie presented a plaque to the Downtown Exchange as well as J.R. Raheys Furniture and Appliances.

Pictou County Roots society member Clyde Macdonald and former director of the organization Philip MacKenzie also presented a plaque to the Lawson Breen, manager of J. R. Rahey’s Furniture and Appliances in New Glasgow. The plaque shows late 1940s photos of Provost Street and Archimedes Street in New Glasgow.

The pair have handed out more than 100 historical plaques to local businesses in an effort to preserve and promote local history.
