John ‘Spyder’ Macdonald next up for Monday Music

ALMA – John “Spyder” Macdonald will be the next artist to the take stage for Monday Music .

 

The Pictou resident has been performing music professionally for over four decades. His rich and distinctive baritone voice, his easy-going stage presence and gentle sense of humour have gained him many friends and loyal fans.

His CD, John Spyder Macdonald, By Sea by Land, is a collection of Maritime music with a strong connection to the Celtic traditions of Nova Scotia.

Spyder has hosted numerous performances of The Summer Sounds of Nova Scotia Ceilidhs at the deCoste Centre and this summer can be seen in the deCoste show, “Pictou: Our Town, Our Story.” On stage he has performed in a number of historically based plays: Highland Dreams, The Druid Circle of Stones, New Beginnings: The Ship Hector Story and The Ships of 1801 Series; he continues to perform the one man musical drama “Salt Water in Your Socks” by Al Macdonald and Paul LeDoux, Also, as an actor, John’s credentials include television appearances as well as radio dramas and, most recently, the motion picture “Newton’s Grace.”

Monday Music in Alma Concert will be held Aug. 21 at 7:30 p.m.  Admission remains at $10 or what you can afford.
