Summer program line-up announced by N.G. community development

NEW?GLASGOW?- The New Glasgow Department of Community Development has released its line-up of programs and events for the summer.
Preschool programs include Jumpstart, which is a mix of outdoor activities, music, crafts and games for ages 3-5 years. Dancercise is an active hour-long program focused on movement, flexibility and fun for the 3-5 year age group. Also for pre-schoolers is the Teddy Bear Picnic, which will take place in the parks of New Glasgow.
Youth programs include a workshop in Lacrosse for ages 5-12 years, while a certified NS Volleyball instructor will lead a workshop in Volleyball. For those with an aptitude for business, potential entrepreneurs, ages 12-18 years will have a chance to participate in the New Glasgow Apprentice Challenge. Other programs for youth include a "Try-athlon, a Ball Hockey League, a Girl Power Camp and a Babysitting Course offered by St. John Ambulance.
Also offered is a three-day Musical Theatre Camp that will allow those ages 5-12 to explore dance, movement, skits and improvisation. Also offered are a Dance Camp, Kids Cooking, Teens 'n Training, and Explore New Glasgow Camp. Adults and seniors programs range from Digital Photography to a Penny Pinching workshop in saving money to a Music and Movement walking program for seniors of all fitness levels. There will also be a Garden Art workshop with Nancy Levo, a Moms in Movement walking program, Cake Decorating Class and a weekly Socials for Seniors. The three New Glasgow Community Centres are all offering summer camps for children and youth.
Those interested in registering for programs can do so by returning forms to the town office, by fax (755-6445), by phone (755-4398), or attend the Registration Session on June 27 at Glasgow Square Theatre from 6-8 p.m.
