PICTOU – Pictou County District RCMP responded to reports of a couple of suspicious characters this week.
On Tuesday, the RCMP got a call shortly after 7 p.m. of an unknown male wearing a hooded shirt banging on the window of a Wellington Street residence. The Mounties quickly arrived on the scene but the suspect had fled. The police dog was called in but the suspect wasn't found.
There was no damage or injuries and the matter is still under investigation.
On Wednesday morning RCMP received a complaint from a hunter who was approached in the Piedmont area by a man claiming to be an RCMP officer.
The hunter told RCMP that a man wearing hunting gear questioned him and his friends on a hunting-related matter. He displayed an RCMP baseball cap and identified himself as an RCMP officer staying at a nearby hotel.
The Mounties remind the public that all RCMP regular members carry identification that includes a badge and photo ID card.
