Toy Tiger was a big hit with the fans print this article

NEW GLASGOW – Toy Tiger, the story of Art Hafey, local boxing legend, was a smash hit at Empire Studio Seven in New Glasgow on Monday night.
The movie was originally slated for one showing at 7 p.m. Randy Doucette, general manager at the theatre, said he would guess that about 700 people showed up Monday evening, filling the lobby and having a lineup on the sidewalk.
“We had to move Twilight out of our largest theatre,” said Doucette.
The vampire movie was the top movie last weekend but Toy Tiger proved to be just as popular with customers that night.
Because of the demand, Doucette cancelled the showings of both Paranormal Activity and Law Abiding Citizen on Monday night. About 450 people took in Toy Tiger Monday.
There was another showing Tuesday evening. Doucette said he had to call to get permission to cancel one of their regular movies Tuesday in order to allow the people who missed out Monday to see it last night.
“A pretty startling turn out,” said Brad Little, the film’s producer. “We couldn’t have been happier with the results,” he said. Both he and Hafey were present present on Monday night.
“We were kind of overwhelmed,” said Hafey about the turnout to the show.
“I understand the amount was roughly $3,000,” he continued.
They were taking $10 donations at the door which went toward Barry Sponagle of Westville, whose house had burned down.
They were also selling DVD gift packs of the movie.
“The just sold like hot cakes,” said Doucette.
Doucette said hopefully the could have another screening in the near future if the demand is still there.

Don Cosh from durham, NS writes: toy tiger was great. No one deserves more to have his story told in such a manner than Art. It is said that the last to give recognition are those close to you, and this seems to have been the case with Art Hafey. He was always a fine gentleman with values we all should have. It was nice to see so many people there on Monday night. It couldn't happen to a better guy.
