Pictou County favourite Robyn Alcorn is the latest musician to join the slate of performers for Monday Music in Alma.

She has sung to many audiences in Pictou County over the years and on Dec. 12 she will add one more venue to that list.

“Musician, mother, teacher – that's a lot on her plate, but Robyn Alcorn manages to do it all with grace and aplomb. As most folks in Pictou County know, Robyn comes with her musicality from both sides of the family: the Alcorns and the Durnings have been part of the musical backbone here for decades,” said organizer Gwen MacLean in a release. “Robyn added another musical connection when she married Declan Martin, a very fine musician in his own right.”

She will be the featured musician at the Green Hill – Alma United Church for the final concert of this year.

Robyn will be accompanied on a few selections by her grandfather George Durning, and will also be singing a number of jazz pieces accompanied by pianist Dave Pos and her father Andrew Alcorn.

There are a few more concerts in the works for early in 2017.

Like all of the concerts in the series, admission is pay what you can with a suggested donation of $10.

Music begins at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 12.
