The last concert of the 2017 of the Monday Music in Alma series will be held on Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Green Hill – Alma United Church.
The featured musician is Crystal Mann who has been busy singing at many events the last few months; she was first heard at the little church back in October when she was a guest at an anniversary ceilidh there.
Born in Cape Breton, but now quite firmly planted in Pictou County, Mann draws inspiration from everyday life both as a singer and songwriter. Her performances are expressive and reveal her full range of singing styles – Maritime, folk, country, rock. Added to her beautiful renditions of traditional folk and Maritime songs are her moving original songs.
“Crystal’s concert will be like a souvenir for our Monday Music audience,” said the organizer of the series Gwen MacLean. “We are taking a few months off, and what better gift to give them but the memory of Crystal’s performance to add to the collection of fine concerts we have shared at the little church. This space has added many fine musical events to its acoustic memory during the three years of concerts hosted here and this one on Dec.11 will be another one for sure.”
It is hoped that concerts will resume in late spring, but for now this is your last chance to take in a Monday Music in Alma concert, she said. As always, admission is $10 or what you can afford.
