A Stellarton police officer has been suspended from duty after allegations that he uttered threats towards two women.
On June 24 this year, Stellarton Police Service received information that in 2010 a Stellarton police officer D'Arcy Gallant, a three year veteran of the Stellarton Police Service uttered threats towards the two women in the town of Stellarton.
On June 26, Stellarton Police requested the assistance of the RCMP to investigate. As a result Gallant has been charged with two counts of uttering threats under the Criminal Code.
The matter has been set down for court on Aug. 6 to enter a plea.
Const. Gallant has been suspended from duty pending the criminal court proceedings and subsequent Police Act Internal Proceedings.
