Former New Minas woman banned from owning animals for life following SPCA cat hoarding investigation
KENTVILLE, NS - A former New Minas family had good intentions, but they became overwhelmed after trying to help several cats.
As a result of an 11-week investigation following a complaint received from Thorburn Consolidated School, officers with the RCMP General Investigation Section arrested a 37-year-old woman earlier today at her residence in Stellarton, without incident. RCMP have charged Carolyn Amy Hood with one count of Sexual Assault, one count of Sexual Interference, two counts of Luring Minors Over the Internet for a Sexual Purpose and two counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Young Person. Hood has been released from custody on conditions and will appear in Pictou Provincial Court on March 17, 2014.
