Advocate leading mental illness support program in Pictou County
Sherry Blinkhorn would like to see a time when talking about mental illness becomes just like talking about the weather.
Archway Counselling is inviting residents of Pictou County and beyond to its annual Banquet and Silent Auction on Feb. 7 at 6 p.m.
The event will take place at Summer Street Industries, 72 Park St., New Glasgow, and features music by Lacey Morrell and the Northumberland Regional High School Jazz Combo.
Archway Counselling started in Truro in 1994, and now serves Pictou County through its office in Westville. The organization provides a full range of psychological counselling services for individuals, couples, families and children based on a foundation of integrity, compassion, and Christian principles.
All Archway therapists are registered counsellors in Nova Scotia. Archway also provides counselling services at an affordable cost and offers reduced rates based on the ability to pay. In order to meet the need for counselling in Pictou County, Archway relies on volunteers, the generosity of donors, and fundraising events such as the Banquet and Silent Auction
Banquet tickets are $25 each, or $175 for a table of eight. Tickets are available at Summer Street Industries or by calling the Archway office at 695-3590.
