Researchers using 'whale breath' to study endangered orcas off B.C. coast
VANCOUVER — Researchers are hoping the exhaled breath of killer whales living off the coast of British Columbia can provide some insight into the endangered animals' health.
Police have arrested a 25-year-old Stellarton man after finding 269 marijuana plants in his home.
Charges are pending against the man after the search.
Wednesday at 8:45 a.m., the Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (PCISCEU), along with the assistance of the Stellarton Police Service, executed a search warrant at a residence on Rutherford Street. The 25-year-old was arrested without incident. Police seized 269 marijuana plants in various stages of growth, 31 grams of dried marijuana, 42 contraband/illegal cigarettes and growing equipment. The male will be appearing in Pictou Provincial court on March 24.
Charges are also pending under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Customs and Excise Act. The investigation continues.
