Debbie Robson Memorial Competition today

This Saturday, the Pictou county Highland Dance Association will host the Debbie Robson Memorial Competition at the DeCoste Centre in Pictou. Debbie Robson was a well known Pictou County highland dancer, and teacher, who was tragically killed in a car accident on July 23, 1978. The association wanted to celebrate Debbie’s contribution to highland dance in Pictou County and this competition was established. Dancing starts at 9 a.m. for beginner dancers and afternoon dancing is at 1 p.m. for the premier dancers. Pictured in the photo are three Pictou County primary dancers who will be competing this weekend: Abigail White, Pictou, Rose MacPherson, Caribou Island and Cassie Moser, Linacy. SUBMITTED
