A New Glasgow man's entry in the Lay's 'Do us a Flavour' contest is making ripples across the country.

Scott Kraus, a student at St. FX, has received over 500 votes for his Pictou County Pizza flavour in the contest, making it among the top ten in the nation. Currently, the top voted chip flavour, Powerful Poutine sits at 1130 votes.

"Were in a great spot for the judging," said Kraus.

While the voting doesn't determine which four flavours will move on to the final round, it does allow the judges to see which flavours have the potential for popular appeal.

On Apr. 25, a panel of judges will judge each entry on its originality and creativeness, simplicity and fun and flavour.

The four finalists will have their flavour developed and be on shelves for purchase this summer.
