Man charged with having child porn sentenced to 90 days

PICTOU - A 46-year-old Linacy man has been sentenced to 90 days in jail for possessing child pornography.

Leamund Edward Knickle was sentenced in Pictou provincial court Monday and entered guilty plea to possession of child porn.

A Toronto police officer was doing a search for child porn users in January 2013 and noticed a website connected to an Internet account in Pictou County. Local police were contacted an a search was conducted at Knickle's home.

The Crown said 132 short sexual video clips of young girls before the age of adolescence.  

The number was on the low end of scale compared to what the Crown said it has seen in the past, but still required a 90-day jail sentenced in addition to 18 months probation. The jail sentence will be served intermittently.
