PICTOU – A South Shore man has pleaded not guilty to robbing a woman outside a Shoppers Drug Mart in New Glasgow last August.
Jayden Piercy, 25, will have his trial begin in Pictou Provincial Court Dec. 8. Three days have been set aside for the trial.
Piercy’s 31-year-old brother, Justin, also charged in the alleged crime, has had his case adjourned until his next appearance on July 3 for a bail hearing. Justin was remanded into custody until his next court appearance in Pictou provincial court.
The Piercy brothers are charged with robbery as well as wearing a disguise during the commission of a crime. They have yet to enter pleas on the charges.
The charges stem from an incident in August when a woman was allegedly sprayed in the face with an irritant and had her purse stolen while she was in the parking lot of the Shoppers Drug Mart on East River Road.
A third co-accused, 21-year-old Rosina Ernst, will have her preliminary hearing take place in Oct. 21 and 22 in Pictou.
