Pictou providing bus service to board meeting
The Town of Pictou is hoping a busload of people will travel to the next school board meeting where the school review will be discussed.
Second suspect charged in incident
Shawn Kurtis Jack was seriously injured in an attack Monday.
He is also charged with aggravated assault, wearing a disguise with intent to commit an offence and two counts of breaching court-ordered conditions.
The 25-year-old was remanded to the Cape Breton Correctional Centre overnight.
Cape Breton Regional Police originally responded to reports of an injured man just before midnight on Monday, where staff at the Superstore in North Sydney had located him in their parking lot. The 48-year-old male victim – formerly of Truro, who had been staying in the area – was transported by EHS to Cape Breton Regional Hospital with serious head injuries and later to Halifax for further treatment. He remains in serious condition in Halifax hospital.
Jennifer Lynn MacLeod, 22, of Boularderie, has also been charged with aggravated assault and wearing a disguise with intent to commit an offence.
Members of the police service's major crime unit continue to investigate.
