More adults using Transport de Clare shuttle service than seniors
DIGBY, NS – Adults used accessible public transportation ten times more often than seniors, according to Transport de Clare.
Two men were taken to hospital for minor injuries after a collision on a divided section of Highway 104 on Friday.
Pictou County emergency services including Pictou County RCMP, EHS and Linacy Fire Department were called to a two-vehicle collision at approximately 1:27 p.m.
Preliminary investigation showed that a white 2003 Ford pickup truck, driven by a 70-year-old man from Colchester County had just finished passing a tractor trailer and pulled back to the right lane after completing a pass.
The pickup continued to cross over into the paved shoulder, rear ending a red 2012 Ford pickup truck.
The driver of the red truck, a 58-year-old Antigonish County man, had pulled off the highway to answer a call on his cell phone.
This truck ended up on its roof while the white pickup came to rest over the small embankment.
The highway was shut down to one lane as emergency workers tended to the scene causing slight delays for Friday afternoon traffic. It was re-opened at 3:15 p.m.
The men were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Alcohol has been ruled out as a contributing factor and police are continuing their investigation.
