The body of a missing teenaged swimmer was found Friday night in Kings County.
At 4:55 p.m., RCMP received a call that an 18-year-old had jumped off a bridge into the water off the Black River Road.
He was last seen going into the water and came up to the surface, but went under again and did not surface.
Local fire rescue teams and the RCMP were called to the Lumsden Dam area, a popular swimming hole in the Annapolis Valley, to search for the teen. A Ground Search and Rescue team also did a shoreline search.
It was the RCMP's Underwater Recovery Team that located the body.
Wolfville Fire Chief Kirk Fredericks said his department was called to the scene at about 5 p.m. Firefighters assisted the RCMP dive team in their activities. The body was recovered at around 9 p.m.
The matter remains under investigation.
