Pictou Lions hope to make park at Brown’s Point
The Pictou and Area Lions Club’s plans to build a park on the outskirts of town has do some work with the town before it goes ahead.
New Glasgow Regional Police arrested five people in connection with break and enters, possession of stolen property, thefts, mischief, and several breaches of probation that occurred between Thursday and Sunday.
The accused are said to be responsible for the July 3 break and enter into the Helico Air Services building, and on July 5 the damage to several properties by spray paint and on July 6 there was a theft of two motor bikes from a residential barn.
The five are charged with several offences with a total of 23 charges ranging from break and enter, possession of stolen property, theft, mischief and breaches of probation.
“The investigation involved several specialized units including patrol investigators within New Glasgow Regional Police and the arrests have solved three major incidents that affected the community,” said Cst. Ken Macdonald of the New Glasgow Regional Police. “Several thousand dollars in damages have resulted in the actions of these five individuals that will had an impact on the owners.”
He didn’t have the ages immediately available.
Police have also recovered the stolen property as part of the investigation.
Suspects will be appearing in court at a later date.
New Glasgow Regional Police continue to investigate.
