Pictou is about to receive a “winter blast” as the deCoste Centre gets ready to host a line-up of entertainment intended to make the season a bit more enjoyable.

The Winter Blast Fest begins on Jan. 19 with Night Fever and British Legends, featuring the music of the Bee Gees, David Bowie and Paul McCartney.

The Sanctified Brothers bring their great gospel sounds to the Centre on Sunday, Jan. 22, for a 1 p.m. matinee performance.

Pictou County Pop Classics, a show featuring over 40 musicians, will be on stage at the deCoste on Friday, Feb. 10. This show has sold out three times at Glasgow Square and promises a night of great musical memories.

A pub night with Evans & Doherty takes place on Feb. 17, followed by the Keppoch Kitchen Party – a presentation by the Ships of 1801 Society on Feb. 19.

Under African Skies, a celebration of Black History Month, is on stage Feb. 23 and Matt Minglewood returns to the deCoste on Feb. 24 to celebrate his birthday and his latest CD release.

Winter Blast Fest is sponsored by Advocate Media and tickets for all performances are on sale now at the deCoste box office. Box office hours for January and February are Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call for further information at 902-485-8848 or decostecentre.ca.
