Trash diverted into treasure at A.G. Baillie Memorial School
NEW GLASGOW – A.G. Baillie Memorial School is in the running to win a new garden and a picnic table, made from recycled materials collected by students.
PICTOU – A New Glasgow doctor charged with voyeurism has elected to be tried by judge and jury in Supreme Court.
Dr. Rafid Al-Nassar’s lawyer appeared on his behalf in Pictou provincial court on Thursday.
Police charged Al-Nassar in November after a nine-month investigation. They allege he was video-recording people in situations where they had an expectation of privacy.
After suspending his licence on an interim basis, the College of Physicians and Surgeons placed restrictions they believe address concerns for patient safety. Al-Nassar is required to have a chaperone present when meeting with patients, except in an operating room. A sign noting the restriction must also be present in the waiting room and any examination room where patients are seen.
The College of Physicians and Surgeons website lists Al-Nassar’s business address as the Eastside Health Centre on East River Road in New Glasgow.
Before the charge, Al-Nassar was working out of the West Side Medical Centre in New Glasgow.
Al-Nassar will also have a preliminary inquiry, which is scheduled for Nov. 21.
