- County 4H and its supporters celebrated a dream becoming reality Sunday when it officially opened its new 4H building. The new larger buiding will be much needed display area for 4H projects as well as a meeting hall and other 4H events. Extensive fundraising was done and with in kind donations as well as monetary donations, the building officially opened Sunday in time for the upcoming Pictou-North Colchester Exhibition on Sept. 5-9. Here, from the left: Dawson Lees, 4H host, County Warden Robert Parker, 4H Leaders Council President Cathy Lavers, Agricultural Society Chair Jack Ferguson and 4H host Graicen Murray take part in the official ribbon cutting. There is still work to be done to the barn but thanks to a recent $20,000 grant from the FCC Agricultural Spirit Fund the insulations of the walls and ceiling should be complete by late fall.
