A request by Coun. Ronnie Baillie to find out the price of placing directional signs for civic address at intersections has proven to be too costly to approve.
County staff said it would cost about $100 for the metal pole and directional sign listing the civic addresses at the intersection so motorists know which way to travel if they are looking for a particular address.
Considering there are 551 intersections in rural Pictou County, having one sign at an intersection would cost the county $55,000. If there were four way intersections, then the signage would increase as would the cost.
Baillie said he would take the information back to his ratepayers, but no further action was moved by council.
