County council will be seeking the advice of a real estate agent when it comes to renting out some vacant office space.
Coun. David Parker put forward a motion during a property services meeting to hire a real estate professional to market the space that has been left vacant when the registry of deeds closed its office in the municipal building in 2015. The province is continuing to pay for the leased space until 2019, but when this stops, council wants to be ready to lease it again.
“It’s not hard to imagine several uses for it,” he said.
Parker’s recommendation to council to hire a real estate professional was approved unanimously.
