Ben Dunnett and Jonathan Rogers have a busy summer scheduled. The pair are working this summer at First Baptist Church in New Glasgow and have come up with a series of day camps for youth. The first began earlier this week.

Over the next two months they will be hosting four weeks of day camps that are designed to teach youth skills while also offering an opportunity to learn more about God.

“One of the main goals is we made these camps to be skill camps,” Rogers said. “They will get skills out of them.”

Dunnett said they’ve tried to cover a variety of topics to appeal to the different areas of interest the youth might have. Camp themes cover everything from the creative arts and sports to public speaking.

There will be no cost for the camps.

“We wanted to keep it as something we were doing for the community and keep it cost free,” Dunnett explained.

All the events will run from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The day camps are open to youth between the ages of 8 and 12.

For more information on the camps or to register people can contact First Baptist Church at (902) 752-6180 or visit their Facebook page.
