Na Gaisgich is holding its annual Introduction to piping and drumming at the Hector Quay this week.  The course is free of charge to youth ages 7-14 and includes instruction on proper techniques and basic rudiments, music theory, classes in Highland dress, history of both instruments, etc. The course is provided free of charge by the gracious assistance of Na Gaisgich Society, Rotary club and St. Andrews Society.  Here, clockwise from the left: Ella Affleck,  Abbie Affleck, Lagen Horton, instructor Elizabeth Sharpe,  Lance Horton, instructor Zachery MacInnis, instructor Luke MacDonald,  Seamus Fanning,  Fionna Brown and Payton Veling  work on a pipe and drumming tune.  The Heatherbell Pipe Band, which is based out of Pictou, is always accepting new members and more information can be obtained by contacting [email protected]
