More than 130 golfers will be teeing off to help youth at the Abercrombie Golf and Country Club this weekend.
This Saturday at the Abercrombie Golf Club, the 2nd Annual “Roots for Youth Charity Scramble” will take place, with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. This event has doubled in size in the last year and we look forward to this becoming a yearly event in our community.
Every hole is being sponsored by local companies and thousands of dollars in items up for auction. The day features not only golf. Ashley George will be performing while golfers are finishing up and waiting for a steak dinner. Two time Olympian, Sarah Conrad will be there, along with Ken Reid of Sportsnet Connected hosting the live auction Featured items include :

And the list goes on.
All of the money raised at the event goes directly to the Roots for Youth organization. Their focus is on helping youth in our community who are experiencing difficulties with regard to homelessness.
Everyone is welcome to drop by the Abercrombie Golf Club on Saturday. There is a silent auction all day long with the live auction taking place at 7:15 p.m. After a very successful first year, organizers are hoping for an even more successful second.
The Roots for Youth Charity Scramble is just one of many events being planned by Roots House and its’ committees to help raise awareness and fund programs for the growing issue of homelessness in Pictou County.
