Anyone looking to buy, build or renovate their home – or a home away from home – is in for a treat this weekend.
A local resource that can help you do any of those things and more is on the way to the Pictou County Wellness Centre.
The second annual Pictou County Home and RV Show is set to take place in the Bell and Sobeys arenas from Friday to Sunday. It will display an assortment of resources for both homes and RVs.
The show will feature products and services associated with the construction, renovation, remodelling and improvement of homes and living spaces.
“Last year we tried it, and were pleased with the facility and the turnout from the area,” said manager Denise Miller.
The home show will also coincide with the display and sale of RVs at the same event. David Hood, general manager of the Pictou County Wellness Centre, said the event will feature Stone’s RV displaying a variety of its recreational vehicles, trailers and associated products. Hood emphasized how exciting it is to hold such a popular event a second time.
“Last year, we received tremendous support and positive feedback,” said Hood, adding that approximately 4,000 showed up over the course of three days.”
Hood said that with the home show, vendors will have their services and products on display at a variety of booths in the Sobeys Arena.
Representatives at the show will be covering everything from the foundation up. There will be representatives on hand for construction companies, landscaping companies, energy companies, and real estate groups to answer any questions and inquiries guests may have about buying, building or updating homes.
“They’ll show how they can help you out with scaling designs, interior design, home heating and renovation ideas,” said Hood.
Both local and larger regional companies will be on hand to talk about everything from landscaping around a house to buying a new RV.
Miller said she hopes to see just as many people as last year in attendance – or more – at this year’s show.
“We have some new exhibitors this year, who weren’t there last year. The show is fully booked. Last year we were happy to see the turnout in town.”

The Pictou County Home and RV Show will run from March 23-25, at the Pictou County Wellness Centre.
The doors will open on Friday at 4 p.m. and the event will run until 9 p.m.
The doors will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday running until 6 p.m.
The door will open at 10 a.m. on Sunday and the event will run until 4 p.m.
Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and free for children under the age of 18.
