PICTOU – Preliminary inquiries will be held in the fall for two Pictou County men charged in an alleged Trenton home invasion.
Robert Douglas MacInnis, 23, and Corey Michael Caverley, 22, are both charged with break and enter into a dwelling house with intent to commit assault in addition to several other charges.
Both have elected to have their cases heard by a Supreme Court judge alone and preliminary hearings will be heard on Sept. 10 and 11, respectively.
A third man, Franklin Crook, is expected to enter pleas next week on similar charges while a fourth man, Micah Osbourne, will have his trial heard in July.
The charges were laid in connection with an alleged home invasion on Grandview Avenue, Trenton, on March 4. Police say four males went to the household and two men forced their way into the residence and threatened the two lone occupants inside.
