PICTOU, N.S. -  A Stellarton man has pleaded not guilty to charges of voyeurism and trespassing. Martin Gregory Bates, 64, was charged with trespassing and voyeurism in relation to an alleged incident on May 12, 2018 in Stellarton. Court documents state the charges involve prowling at night near a dwelling house as well as observing someone who had a reasonable expectation of privacy.

A full day has been set aside on Jan. 24 for the trial in Pictou provincial court.

Bates worked for the Town of Trenton as its recreation director and parks manager. The town confirmed Bates is currently on a leave of absence from his job.
