Mitch Gammon believes in going the extra mile for customers – literally.

This past February, Gammon purchased a tire business on Westville Road and has now become part of the OK Tire franchise.

As they prepare to head into their busiest season of the year, Gammon said they are going to be offering a new service.

“Something interesting we’re doing that is kind of different for the area is we have a box truck that is going to be a mobile tire truck,” Gammon said. “We’re going to be able to do door-to-door driveway service, workplace service as well as service fleets that way.”

They’ll simply pull up to the location and change tires on site. This is in addition to their physical location on Westville Road which customers are still able to get tires changed at.

While the weather is still warm now, Gammon said they’re already starting to stud tires in preparation of the winter months.

“I’ve had a few message requests from people who wanted them done, so we got a jump on it,” he said.

Now is a good time for people to start thinking about their winter tire options before shops become inundated with customers, he said.

Often, he’s had people come in and say they want the cheapest and best tire that he can offer.

While there’s no easy answer, he said they have tires for every price range.

“We sell every type of tire,” he said.

When it comes to using studs or not, Gammon said it really comes down to preference.

“For the extra cost that might give you a little bit of extra traction. Some find them more of a hindrance. We have a lot of tires that don’t require studs that are phenomenal.”

In addition to these services, Gammon said they’re also offering 24-hour roadside service for all sizes of vehicles from cars to commercial trucks. They also offer tire storage.

“That’s something that’s becoming a lot more popular, especially with seniors,” he said.

With everything they do, he said the goal is to stay customer focused.

OK Tire is located at 2619 Westville Road, New Glasgow.
