PICTOU – A Pictou County man facing multiple drug charges has a new lawyer and court date.

Peter Alvin DeWolfe, 53, of Mountville is charged with trafficking a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and failure to comply with a judicial recognizance in relation to a search and seizure at a commercial business in Westville in September. He is also facing multiple weapon charges related to an alleged incident on Aug. 31. He entered not guilty pleas to all charges. DeWolfe’s lawyer recently withdrew from the case due to a client/solicitor breakdown which left the accused without a lawyer for his fast-approaching trial, July 4 to 6 in Pictou provincial court. However, on Monday, DeWolfe’s new lawyer appeared by telephone conference and requested an adjournment so he could have time to review disclosure. The court granted to adjournment and requested everyone return on July 9.
