NEW GLASGOW
Michelle Corcoran, manager of the McDonald’s Restaurant in New Glasgow, has won a 2018 Outstanding Manager of the Year award, which recognizes the top performing managers across the country.
Every day, Corcoran works diligently beside her crew members to serve quality food, with excellent service and warm smiles to restaurant guests, a release from the company said. Corcoran has been with McDonald’s since 1981 and started as a crew member in St. John’s, N.L., where she grew up. She became a restaurant manager in 2011.
One of Corcoran’s highlights at McDonald’s is the annual McHappy Day, where her restaurant raises money for the local Ronald McDonald House along with every other restaurant in the country. Being able to give back to the community and notice the positive effect this initiative has on hundreds of people is something that fulfils her, she says.
“The Manager of the Year award is so special to me. It shows that the restaurant team has accomplished many goals and targets throughout the year,” said Corcoran. “Being part of a team and successfully achieving results is a thrill for me. Competition is the name of the game, and I could not be prouder of this win!”
Every year, McDonald's franchisees and regional management nominate restaurant managers across the country for the Outstanding Manager of the Year award to recognize their hard work, dedication, and commitment to McDonald's Canada and its customers.
“Michelle understands how important outstanding service is to our customers and she is always looking for ways to exceed their expectations,” said Larry Swenson, McDonald’s franchisee. “Michelle is worthy of this prestigious award and it is our way of thanking her for her ongoing efforts to grow and improve our engagement with both employees and guests.”
