County bylaw officer Anne MacMaster said the property of 33 West River Station Rd. was brought to her attention in May 2016, but she hasn’t been able to reach the property owner since notices sent by mail have been returned.

She said the home is considered unsightly and dangerous because it is vacant, has some construction and demolition material in the yard, long grass and some of the roof’s shingles are coming off. MacMaster said there is no power to the home, but the taxes have been paid.

Council agreed that if the home on the property was not demolished and debris cleared from the property in 30 days it would take action of its own and possibly sell the property in a tax sale to recover the cost of the work
