Pedestrian struck by vehicle in New Glasgow

An 86-year old man was transported to the Aberdeen Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, on Monday evening, after a vehicle-pedestrian collision near a crosswalk at the intersection of Victoria Street and East River Road in New Glasgow.

The collision occurred just after 6 p.m., when the man was struck by a large cargo van. Emergency Health Services and the New Glasgow Fire Department were also at the scene.

According to Const. Ken MacDonald with the New Glasgow Regional Police, an investigation is currently underway.
