Pictou County District RCMP have arrested a 25-year-old man and a 45-year-old man for impaired driving during the weekend. Both came through police checkpoints.
Shortly after midnight during the early morning of April 22, RCMP conducted a checkstop in Alma. They observed a vehicle driven by a man approaching the checkstop. Upon further investigation, the 25-year-old male driver from Sylvester, was arrested for impaired driving. He faces charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit.
Just after 8 p.m. the same day, RCMP conducted a second checkstop in Haliburton. A vehicle driven by a man approached the checkstop and further investigation resulted in a 45-year-old driver from River John being arrested for impaired driving. He faces charges of Impaired operation of a motor vehicle and driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit.
Both men are scheduled to appear in Pictou provincial court on Aug. 7.
