The Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of Stellarton Police Service and New Glasgow Regional Police Canine Unit, conducted a traffic stop on Bridge Avenue in Stellarton on March 16 at approximately 10 a.m.
The driver and lone occupant was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. Additionally, police seized a quantity of methamphetamine from the driver.
Following that, Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit, assisted by the Pictou District RCMP, executed a search warrant in Hopewell where police seized one firearm and a quantity of illegal tobacco.
The man, who is prohibited from owning or possessing any firearm, has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, possession of illegal tobacco, and possession of a firearm while prohibited. The accused will appear in provincial court at a later date.
