An 18-year old Pictou County woman was arrested on Sunday night, after New Glasgow Regional Police responded to a 911 call over a stabbing that took place in New Glasgow
At approximately 12:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, New Glasgow Regional Police responded to a 911 call, reporting that a 19-year old man had been stabbed at a residence on Brother Street.
Police said that the man was stabbed in the upper body, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the Aberdeen Hospital by Emergency Health Services.
According to information from the New Glasgow Regional Police, the incident stemmed from a disturbance at the residence on Brother Street, and both parties knew one another.
The woman was taken into custody, and held overnight. She will be appearing in Nova Scotia Provincial court in Pictou today, and faces the following charges: aggravated assault, possession of a dangerous weapon and breech of an undertaking.
The investigation of the matter is ongoing, and being carried out by the New Glasgow Police Major Crime Unit and the New Glasgow Forensic Identification Section.
