Police have charged three people following a search of a New Glasgow cannabis dispensary.
On Thursday, Aug. 30 at around 5:30 p.m., the Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of the New Glasgow Regional Police, executed a search warrant at Scotia Green Inc., cannabis dispensary, 559 East River Road New Glasgow.
As a result of their search, police seized a quantity of cannabis marihuana, resin, derivatives, and cash. Subsequently, police arrested a 32-year-old man from Mount Uniacke, Nova Scotia, a 57-year-old woman from Trenton, and a 43-year-old woman from Pictou.
At this time, both women are each facing two counts of trafficking, two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and one count each for production of a controlled substance. The man is facing one count of production of a controlled substance along with two counts of trafficking and two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. Both women have been released from police custody, while the manremains in custody.
All three will appear in Provincial court at a later date.
This isn’t the first time police have raided the business. Three people were also arrested following a search at the dispensary in May.
