The Town of Pictou celebrated Pride Week with a flag raising at Market Square. Gerard Veldhoven, right, a Pictou County resident and long-time activist for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community spoke, as did Pictou Mayor Jim Ryan and Pictou West MLA Karla MacFarlane. Pride Week activities were held in the county and events continued in the Halifax area this week.
