A rarity from the bottom of the Northumberland Strait landed in John Baird’s trap Monday. Baird, who fishes near Caribou Island, found the albino lobster in one of his traps about mid-way through his first haul of the season. Scientists say there is a one in 100 million chance of finding a lobster with no pigmentation. The canner lobster is currently calling Sobeys in Pictou its new home and is not for sale. Baird said he plans to return it to the ocean at the end of the season in June.
