Children lined up and took turns whispering their Christmas wishes in Santa’s ear Friday at True Colors Hair Salon in Trenton.

As it turns out Santa is a regular at the business saying he always stops in along with an elf to get a haircut and beard trim before the big day.

It’s his favourite place to go despite the fact that last year his facial hair was accidentally set on fire with a curling iron, he said with a hearty laugh.

Betsy MacKenzie Cameron, who has owned True Colors for the last 10 years took her time to carefully check over Santa’s hair and beard. She put some wax and curled his moustache to make sure it looks just right for Christmas.

Children visiting the store gave their approval for her work.

MacKenzie Cameron said she enjoys having Santa stop in and giving out some treat bags to the children who visit.

Every year she said he always comes Dec. 22.

“I always leave that availability open.”

She hopes to continue the tradition with more and more children stopping in. Now that word is out about Santa’s preference for the store, she hopes that more people can come out next year on Dec. 22 to say hello.
