School Options Committee in Pictou presenting recommendation

PICTOU – A committee looking into the best option for schools in the Town of Pictou will present its final recommendation Thursday.

The School Options Committee will be hosting a public meeting Thursday at 7 p.m. at Pictou Academy during which time it will present the option it will be recommending to the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board during a meeting later this month.

The School Options Committee will be hosting a public meeting Thursday at 7 p.m. at Pictou Academy during which time it will present the option it will be recommending to the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board during a meeting later this month.

This will be fourth public meeting in the school review process that includes Pictou Elementary, Pictou Academy, Dr. Thomas MacCulloch Junior High and Northumberland Regional High School.

The SOC will submit its report and recommendation to the CCRSB on Jan. 24 and presentations by the SOC and staff will be heard March 22. The school board will make its decision on the school review process on April 19.
