STELLARTON – Funding for Stellarton’s Homecoming festival was approved at Monday’s town council meeting. Councillors voted in favour of the town providing $10,000 for the annual festivities, along with an additional $250 that will come from another fund. The $250 will be used to provide food and drinks at the concert in the park.
Coun. Ken Francis noted that the budget for the festival is approximately $33,000. Last year the town gave $7,500 to Homecoming, and Francis explained that the increase is due to rising expenses for such things as hiring bands to perform.
