Fireworks including a pyrotechnical show that saw flames shooting 18 feet in the air awed the thousands of people who showed up at the soccer complex.
“That’s what kind of blew people away,” said co-chair of the event Paul Corbin.
By all accounts he said the Homecoming activities which included music every night was a huge success with some of the best numbers they’ve ever had.
Last year their kids day events brought out about 450 people for a record setting attendance, but this year topped that with about 900 kids turning out for the kids day activities including a bouncy house and chidlren’s parade.
They had about 800 people for their Concert in the Park and this year’s pancake breakfast was a huge success with 1,115 plates being served.
The Friday dance which was designed to appeal to a different audience didn’t get as much attendance as was anticipated but still had about 90 people.
“It all went very well,” Corbin said.
Financially, all the events brought back in good revenue.
“We lucked out in that we had some fantastic donations and sponsorships,” Corbin said.
The town also upped the amount they were contributing to the activities.
