Police in Stellarton aren’t releasing any more information as they continue their investigation into a home invasion on MacKay Street.

Police Chief Don Hussher said Friday his department had no new information to release at this point.

The invasion, which resulted in one man being sent to the hospital, happened around 12:30 a.m. Thursday police believe.

Friday afternoon, the street appeared quiet again and the police presence that people in the neighbourhood had woken up to on Thursday was gone.

One neighbour, who requested not to be named, said she was not surprised when she saw the police at the end of the street because she said they are frequently seen in that area.

Police initially said that two white men are believed to have fled the scene of the invasion. No other description was given.

What appeared to be blood could be seen on the steps of one of the homes Thursday with police markers leading to the neighbouring home. Police say they were notified about the home invasion after receiving a call from the hospital around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday.
